When she was only 19 years old, the young french singer Vanessa Paradis decided to move to the US to live with her lover Lenny Kravitz. During their four years of relationship, the rocker produced an entire album for his girlfriend, simply entitled VANESSA PARADIS. In this third maxi, the french artist chose to sing exclusively in english, as we can hear through the 70's kind of vibe of BE MY BABY. For the song, the director John Lindeauer injected a hippie atmosphere to an empty swimming pool. Moreover, the important inspiration came from John Palmer's movie, Ciao Manhattan! And the looks from icons such as Brigitte Bardot and Edie Sedgwick.
